Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the state’s significant strategic advantages for investment, noting its 15,500 square kilometer landmass, its ₦5.1 trillion GDP, and Nigeria’s longest coastline, where there are plans for a deep seaport to drive export and growth in the blue economy.
He assured the envoy that Ondo has significantly enhanced security and established a one-stop investment office to fully support potential investors.
The Governor also cited ongoing state-supported projects, including a modular refinery and a chemical plant, which are being facilitated through the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency.
In response, Deputy High Commissioner Jonny Baxter pledged a deeper collaboration between the United Kingdom and Ondo State. He confirmed a $40 million British International Investment commitment in JohnVents Cocoa, alongside other financial support the UK provides to Nigerian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
