Amazon will start selling Hyundai cars online in the United States early next year, both companies announced on Thursday.
“Partnering with one of the world’s most customer-centric organizations unlocks incredible opportunities as we continue to expand our portfolio, grow our sales network, transition to electrification and realize the future of smart mobility,” said Hyundai Motor CEO Jay Chang in a statement.
According to the companies, customers will be able to purchase, outfit, and shop for a car at Amazon and arrange for delivery through a nearby Hyundai dealer.
The deal builds on an earlier announcement made two years ago to extend Hyundai’s digital showroom on Amazon.com, where buyers may configure a car, find out the pricing, and choose a dealer to finish the transaction.
As part of the new arrangement, 2025 new Hyundai car owners will also be able to use their cars to access Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.
