Apple on Tuesday unveiled the iPhone 15 with a brighter screen, a 48-megapixel camera, and a battery made entirely of recycled cobalt.
Added to the device is roadside help which can be requested using the satellite connectivity of the iPhone 15.
Additionally, to use the same charging connections previously used for iPads and Macs, Apple said that USB-C charging cords are coming to both its iPhone 15 and the charging case for its AirPods Pro devices.
The same A16 Bionic chip, which served as the brains of the iPhone 14 Pro, will be power the new iPhone 15.
According to an Apple executive, the company uses machine learning to identify people in the frame and enables users to instantly or later in the Photos app convert a photo into a portrait.
Apple also unveiled a new Series 9 Watch with a function called “double tap” that enables users to conduct actions like answering a phone call by tapping their thumb and finger together twice without touching the watch.
Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams, stated it employs machine learning to identify minute variations in blood flow when a user taps their fingers together, freeing up the other hand for other activities like carrying a cup of coffee or walking a dog.

Apple’s head of environmental affairs, Lisa Jackson, announced that the company will no longer utilise leather in any of its products. The company is replacing some of these items with a fabric dubbed “FineWoven,” which it claims has a suede-like feel.
