X formerly known as X is working on making it possible for users to share their emails when they follow another user.
According to a post from X News daily, a verified new platform that reports information about X, it disclosed that the Elon Musk-owned platform is exploring a feature that will make it possible to share your emails when you subscribe to a creator.
“X is working on adding an option to share your email when you Subscribe to an creator,” X Daily reported.
The platform further added that this might be in a move to build a newsletter or to allow creators easy access to migrate their email list with them to other platforms.
X CEO, Elon Musk corroborated the news platform’s post saying, “It’s vital that creators be able to leave our platform at any time and take their subscribers with them. We want to give peace of mind to creators that they’re not trapped here if they build a large audience”
It’s uncertain when this feature will be rolled out, but when it does roll out, it will fierce competition from Substack, a newsletter platform that’s already competing with X.
The latest disclosure is in line with Elon Musk’s plan of making X an “everything” app following the path of China’s WeChat which is both a social media platform and a fintech app.
