Social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced Community Notes for videos.

Community Notes is a tool for crowdsourced moderation. A note from a contributor attached to a video will now appear in all posts that include that video, according to the Elon Musk-owned site.

“Notes written on videos will automatically show on other posts containing matching videos. A highly-scalable way of adding context to edited clips, AI-generated videos, and more,” the company wrote in a blog post.

In order to give users more context wherever a picture appears, the company started supporting Community Notes for images in May.

The launch of the feature came on the heels of the the Pentagon attack hoax and AI-generated image ads with fake information about death of celebrities

Since last year, Community Notes have been accessible everywhere. With time, X has expanded its support to allow authors from other nations to contextualise content.
