The Lagos State Government has announced that a 25% fare reduction will be restored for all state-managed transport services as of tomorrow, Friday, February 22, 2024.

According to the Times, a tweet on the Lagos State Government’s official X account indicated that “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this news on Thursday during a press briefing with journalists from Channels TV, Arise TV, TVC, and LTV.

The goal of restoring the fee discount for BRT, trains, and ferries, according to Governor Sanwo-Olu, is to lessen the financial strain Lagos citizens are under in light of the current economic difficulties.

In addition, he reported that talks with other transport unions to promote a reduction in transportation are on going.
