The Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators’ Committee, which was established to map the state’s parks and garages, has been disbanded by the Lagos State Government.

According to The Times, Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, released a statement that included this disclosure on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Giwa said “the state administration has also removed the restriction on the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria operations within the state”.

According to him, the suspension was a step towards the state’s goal of promoting harmony and cordial working relationships among union members in the transportation industry.

He clarified that “in order to ensure the seamless functioning of transport services inside the state, the decision was made with the best interests of fostering unity and peaceful coexistence in mind.”

He went on to say that “it would eventually lead to better public services by encouraging a more cooperative relationship between the government and the transport union”.

In order to ensure peaceful and sustainable operations in the transport sector, the special adviser urged all parties involved to carefully abide by the terms and conditions of the settlement negotiated.

In order to benefit all Lagos state residents, he also pleaded with them to collaborate and work together to establish a better transport system
