Google releases AI multisearch feature

Google on Wednesday, launched an AI-powered tool in the US that lets users use their phones to concurrently search with text and images.

At the Samsung Electronics Unpacked event, the Alphabet-owned company said that users of smartphones including the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be able to perform multisearch with gestures without switching applications starting on January 31.

Headquartered in Mountain View, California The majority of Google’s income comes from the internet search industry. For the last year, it has been in a competitive market with Microsoft about generative artificial intelligence.

The company stated that the Google app for iOS and Android may be used with its lens camera icon to access the multisearch capability.

The moves from Samsung come after International Data Corp. revealed that Apple has overtaken Samsung Electronics as the world’s top smartphone vendor in 2023, having had a 20% market share the previous year.

According to preliminary statistics from IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Samsung had a 19.4% market share at the end of the year, followed by Xiaomi, Oppo, and Transsion from China.
