Enugu Air secures UK route approval

Enugu Air has received approval to operate the Lagos-London Gatwick route through a strategic partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation, paving the way for its planned entry into international operations.

The airline announced this in a statement issued on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The approval is expected to strengthen the airline’s connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, although Enugu Air has yet to disclose when flights will begin or release a schedule.

The airline described the development as another milestone in its growth, noting that its partnership with Omni-Blu Aviation would mark a new phase in its planned international expansion.

“We are delighted to announce the approval of the Lagos–London Gatwick route through a strategic partnership between Enugu Air and Omni-Blu Aviation (OBA),” the statement read in part.

The airline also acknowledged Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for his leadership and support in efforts to position the state for improved international connectivity.

It also thanked its partners, stakeholders and supporters, saying their contributions had played an important role in its growth.

However, Enugu Air did not provide further operational details, such as the aircraft to be deployed, flight frequency, ticket prices or when services would commence.

The airline said updates on flight schedules, bookings and the start of operations would be made available through its official communication channels in due course.

Enugu Air began commercial operations on July 7, 2025, under an interim authorisation issued by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

XEJet served as its operational partner, providing aircraft and the operational framework while the airline completed the process of obtaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
