Bimbo Ademoye’s latest romantic comedy, Where Love Lives, has recorded more than six million views within 72 hours of release, after opening with 2.5 million views on its first day, according to analytics from her YouTube channel, Bimbo Ademoye TV.
The film has accumulated a total of 6,041,086 views since its release on December 24, 2025.
The film was produced by Bimbo Ademoye in collaboration with A3 Studios and features Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro in leading roles.
Where Love Lives centres on a couple navigating the realities of life within one of Lagos’ most exclusive estates, where status, hidden secrets, and complex relationships intersect.
The strong early performance has surpassed internal industry expectations and is already being cited as a case study in growing audience appetite for digital-first film distribution.
With a subscriber base of 1.3 million users, Ademoye operates one of the largest YouTube channels owned by a Nollywood movie producer.
The rapid rise of Where Love Lives places it ahead of previous breakout titles, including Ademoye’s Love In Every Word, which crossed 4.3 million views within its first 72 hours earlier in the year.
The performance further underscores the emergence of a YouTube-driven blockbuster economy in Nollywood, powered by star-led channels, micro-studio collaborations, and algorithm-optimised romantic comedy content.
This trend aligns with YouTube’s expanding role as a major distribution pipeline for Nigerian films. In 2025, channels such as Omoni Oboli’s Digital Tribe delivered multiple releases that crossed the multi-million-view mark.
These successes have helped position YouTube as an alternative cinema for audiences who are either priced out of traditional theatres or reside outside Nigeria’s major urban centres.
As an example, Love In Every Word, which starred former BBNaija housemate Bammy, garnered 20 million views within three weeks of release and 4.3 million views in its first 72 hours.
YouTube’s ecosystem of free-to-watch content, subscriber-driven promotion, and low-barrier access continues to reshape Nollywood’s commercial framework and offers a scalable revenue model without reliance on major studio intermediaries.
The success of Where Love Lives also marks a significant milestone in Ademoye’s transition from actor to producer and creator.
Her professional journey began in 2014 with the short film Where Talent Lies, which received recognition at the Africa International Film Festival.
She has credited filmmaker Uduak Isong for mentorship and for casting her in her first feature film role in It’s About Your Husband in 2015.
Ademoye subsequently built a strong portfolio of comedic and dramatic roles, including Backup Wife in 2017, which earned her multiple award nominations.
She also featured in Sugar Rush in 2019, one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful cinema releases of the decade.
Her broader continental recognition came through her role in Anikulapo in 2022, which drew widespread attention across Africa.
In 2023, she won the Best Actress in a Comedy TV Series award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her performance in Selina.
More recently, Ademoye has pivoted towards content ownership, developing a direct-to-audience strategy on YouTube that prioritises monetisation transparency, global reach, and full ownership of creative rights.
This approach places her among a growing group of Nollywood filmmakers who are treating their film outputs as long-term intellectual property portfolios rather than single projects dependent on cinema releases or licensing agreements.
