The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced, the energy scarcity in the nation would end within 10 years.
This was disclosed by Mele Kyari, NNPCl Group Chief Executive Officer, in Abuja on Tuesday, at the opening ceremony of the seventh edition of the Nigerian International Energy Summit, according to The Punch.
In the statement, Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, assured the company’s stakeholders of its willingness to work with them, to bridge the energy deficit gap.
He said “From all indications, all issues of energy scarcity in the country would be over in the next 10 years.”
Meanwhile, Kyari depicts the NNPCL as the largest partner to all oil producing company in Nigeria, and assuring them of its role as a mere facilitator, in the divestments of the international oil companies from onshore and shallow water assets in the country.
In addition, the NNPCL Boss also emphasized the company’s readiness to invest in the proposed African Energy Bank, to ensure the availability of funds for energy projects in Africa.

Petroleum Resources (Gas) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as well the Minister of State
Petroleum Resources (Oil), Omar Farouk.
