Board members Iroche, Nwadiuko resign from United Capital

United Capital Plc has announced the resignations of two of its executives, Mr Sonny Iroche and Sir Stephen Nwadiuko as Non-Executive Directors of the Company.

This information was made public via a corporate filing that was forwarded to Nigeria Exchange Limited, ending the Directors’ five-year tenure as business board members.

An excerpt from the press release reads, “United Capital Plc (the “Company”) hereby informs the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the general public of Mr. Sonny Iroche and Sir Stephen Nwadiuko’s resignation from the Company’s Board of Directors.

“The Board wishes Mr. Iroche and Sir Nwadiuko the best of luck in their future undertakings and expresses gratitude for their contributions to the Company over the years.”

Nwadiuko is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Compliance Institute of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He is also an associate of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria.

He spent more than 20 years working as the deputy director of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Banking Supervision Department before retiring.

He served as the chairman of the Abuja branch of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and as a previous council member of the organization.

Nwadiuko now serves on the Board of Trustees of the Compliance Institute Nigeria and the Investigating Panels of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, respectively.

The National Pensions Commission recently nominated him to the position of Managing Director/CEO of First Guarantee Pensions Limited.

Iroche on the other hand has over thirty years of experience as a seasoned finance executive working in the banking, power, and public sectors. He has served on numerous boards, including those for the International Glass Industries Limited and GTBank Sierra Leone.
