Video platform, YouTube is introducing a new set of features in order to improve mobile playback, song search, and creator-friendly tools on the app.

One of these features highlights the “like and subscribe” buttons whenever a creator uses those phrases.

The company is making it simpler for users to speed up playback. Users may now just tap and hold anywhere on the player to increase the pace to 2x, and then let go once they have reached the desired section.

To minimise abrupt changes in the level within a clip, Google is also introducing a feature called stable volume, which can be toggled through the playback options menu. On a number of platforms, this capability was introduced in test mode in July.

The company is introducing a screen lock option for YouTube customers who access the service through its mobile and tablet apps to prevent unintentional taps.

YouTube has returned its attention to playback and search improvement with these new additions.
