YouTube is currently testing a new feature that uses AI to automatically create video summaries.
The summaries have started to display on the watch and search pages, as mentioned on the support page, although they are currently only accessible for a small selection of English-language videos and viewers.
According to the video platform, the AI-generated summaries offer a brief summary of a video, allowing the user to decide if it’s the perfect one for them.
YouTube cautions, nevertheless, that “while we hope these summaries are helpful and give you a quick overview of what a video is about, they do not replace video descriptions (which are written by creators!).”
