The Nigerian Gas Association has advocated for the use of compressed natural gas as a substitute for premium motor spirit or petrol.
According to The Punch, the association claimed CNG is 15% cheaper compared to petrol.
This was said by the association’s president, Akachukwu Nwokedi, at a press conference in Lagos.
He declared, “The Federal Government must keep gas prices low, and we as an association support CNG, Train 7, because Nigeria has ample gas reserves to spur economic expansion. Additionally, CNG is 15% less expensive than petrol.”
Nwokedi stated that going over the PIA would lead to dealing with issues like multiple taxation, paying for petrol and other expenses in dollars rather than naira, fiscal incentives, and other things.
