Wema Bank, NYSC collaborate on youth empowerment

Sara by Wema and Assembly Hub have partnered together on their business accelerator program, “The Creative Class,” which aims to empower and upskill aspiring business owners in Africa’s thriving fashion sector.

According to The Punch, a statement from Wema Bank revealed that the intensive 4-week accelerator program was created to give budding and established entrepreneurs, aged 21 to 35, access to critical business support, mentoring, and peer learning opportunities.

The Executive Director of Retail and Digital Wema Bank, Tunde Mabawonku, stressed the bank’s commitment to supporting women’s entrepreneurship.

Wema Bank understands that women’s entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of economic progress, the man stated. Initiatives like SARA, which are in line with our aim to support young entrepreneurs, demonstrate this dedication.

“The Creative Class” is poised to change the fashion sector by fostering new talent and scaling up breakthrough concepts. The program offers a variety of thorough masterclasses given by business sector professionals, practical workshops in business modeling, and intense pitch-ready training.

It suggested that entrepreneurs taking part in “The Creative Class” will have the chance to compete for a sizable reward.

“A total of N2.5m in cash grant awards (N500,000 each for the top five finalists) would be given out to help the winning firms expand faster, according to the announcement.

“This program will be delivered both in person and online. Although there will be physical lessons at Purple Academy in Ilupeju, the virtual component guarantees participants’ accessibility and flexibility.”

The statement claimed that “The Creative Class “welcomes creative minds from various niches, including fashtech, home goods, fashion, textiles, accessories, jewelry, and the creative arts.

According to the bank, Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurs who have been in business for 0 to 11 months for the “Fashion ENTR_” pathway and for more than 12 months for the “Fashion NXT_” road were eligible to participate.
