The Board of Directors of Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc has announced the appointment of Adaobi Nwakuche as the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
The Times reported that this was contained in the company’s notice to the investing public and Nigerian Exchange Limited.
The appointment occurred after Mr. Kenneth Egbaran left the company as Managing Director after his employment contract expired, according to a statement signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Advisor, Saratu Umar Garba.
The Board stated that Nwakuche’s appointment is subject to final National Insurance Commission approval.
The notice described Adaobi Nwakuche as an accomplished insurance professional with over twenty-five years of distinguished and practical experience in areas such as deal structuring and contract negotiations, channel development and marketing, team development and leadership, and execution and management of strategic partnerships and alliances.
They were all obtained from various prestigious national organizations. Adaobi was the previous and first Managing Director/CEO of Heirs Insurance Limited, where she oversaw the company’s strategic direction, prior to joining Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc.
Throughout her more than twenty years in the industry, she has held positions as Executive Director at Heirs Holdings Group and Director (Commercial) at Abia State University, where she received her degree in Government and Public Administration.
She continued her education by graduating from ESUT Business School with an MBA in Business Administration. She graduated from the esteemed European American University with a doctorate in insurance, risk management, and corporate governance.
She also holds memberships in the UK’s Chartered Insurance Institute and the Nigerian Chartered Insurance Institute. Adaobi attended Lagos Management School and Harvard Kennedy School.
She has participated in a number of executive-level training courses and seminars nationally as well as internationally.
