ByteDance-owned short video app TikTok is undergoing changes in its senior executive team.
The shakeup includes the reassignment of the person overseeing its trust and safety unit responsible for content moderation, as reported by the Information on Tuesday.
Adam Presser, the app’s operations head, who directly reports to TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, will now assume responsibilities for overseeing trust and safety, per the Information’s report.
In a Congressional hearing last month, Chew, alongside Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg and other industry leaders, faced accusations of not adequately protecting children from increasing threats of sexual predation on their platforms. Responding to questions from Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, TikTok’s CEO pledged to allocate more than $2 billion to enhance trust and safety efforts.
Cormac Keenan, the former head of global trust and safety, will transition into a strategic advisory role within the senior leadership team, as confirmed by a TikTok spokesperson.
