TikTok has launched a ‘reimagined’ native app for the Apple Vision Pro, enhancing the immersive viewing experience on the recently launched device.
The Vision Pro, released on February 2, has quickly amassed over 1,000 apps tailored for its unique capabilities, and TikTok is now among them. While users could previously access TikTok videos via the browser, the new native app is designed to optimize the platform for the Vision Pro.
This development follows recent confirmation by a TikTok product leader that the company was actively working on adapting the app for the new headset.
The Apple Vision Pro initially debuted with 600-plus apps, including popular platforms like Slack, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and Disney+. The headset now boasts a growing library of over 1,000 apps, each leveraging its spatial capabilities for an enhanced user experience.
The move by TikTok aligns with the trend among entertainment and video apps to create spatial versions for the Vision Pro.
Competitors like Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video have already embraced this approach, while YouTube, a significant rival to TikTok, has indicated plans to develop a Vision Pro app in the future, though without specifying a timeline.
