Tesla announced on Monday that Zachary Kirkhorn had resigned as its chief financial officer and that Vaibhav Taneja, its head of accounting, had been selected as the new CFO.
Kirkhorn, a 13-year company veteran, resigned from his position on Friday but will continue to work for Tesla through the end of the year.
Kirkhorn wrote on LinkedIn, “Being a part of this company is a special experience and I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together since I joined over 13 years ago,”
Taneja joined Tesla in 2016, following the automaker’s acquisition of SolarCity. The automaker announced that he will also serve as CFO in addition to his current position as chief accounting officer.
The reason for Kirkhorn’s departure was not disclosed by the company.
