Spotify on Thursday introduced the “Songwriter Promo Cards,” a promotional tool for songwriters to advertise their songs and attract new listeners and possible collaborators.

On promocards.byspotify.com, songwriters may build customisable social media assets known as songwriter promo cards.

Songwriters look up their names, pick their profiles, and select backgrounds that match their style.

The promotional card can be shared immediately on social media and links to the songwriter’s Spotify website.

Additionally, since no login is necessary on the creation site for creating cards, fans now have a new opportunity to share and honour their favourite songwriters.

Spotify also announced that each Songwriter Page would now have a new “Written By” playlist so that fans can quickly find all the songs that someone has written, in addition to the new promo cards.

In response to a change in music marketing, where musicians are now advertising their albums on social media to grow their fan numbers, Spotify introduced Promo Cards in 2020. Podcasters and authors can also use this functionality.

Songwriter Promo Cards were introduced shortly after Spotify unveiled “Showcase,” a feature that allows musicians to advertise their songs directly in the Homestream.
