Snapchat is catching up with its messaging app counterparts by introducing the ability for users to edit their chats.
This feature, set to roll out “soon,” will initially be exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers, the company announced.
With this update, Snapchat users will have a five-minute window to refine their messages, correct typos, or make other edits to their chats.
Edited messages will be marked with a label indicating the changes made.
While the company did not specify when the feature would be available to more users, it often prioritizes sought-after features for its subscription service first.
Snap recently revealed that Snapchat+, priced at $3.99 per month, has amassed 9 million subscribers.
In addition to this editing feature, the app is introducing several non-exclusive features, including updated emoji reactions for chats, the ability to utilize the My AI assistant for setting reminders, and AI-generated outfits for Bitmoji.
Snap also unveiled a new AI lens that transforms users’ selfies into snapshots with a 1990s theme.
