Social media platform Snapchat has disclosed that websites can incorporate public content like Lenses, Spotlight videos, Public Stories, and Public Profiles into their platforms.
The link enables users to access the information on a desktop browser and embed a Story, a video, or a Lens. To copy the code and post it to their website, they can click the embed option on the share sheet.
By adding essential features like the ability to send messages and Snaps in July 2022, Snap improved the usability of its website for users. Only Snapchat+ subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand had access to the first iteration of Snapchat for the web. In September 2022, the business made it accessible to all users.
Instagram and TikTok, rivals of Snapchat, have long provided online embeds so that blogs and news websites can use their content. With this action, Snap intends to increase app and website traffic.
According to The Verge’s Alex Heath, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel informed staff via internal memo last week that the social network aims to reach 475+ million daily users by 2024.
