Pope Francis’ funeral to be livestreamed worldwide on YouTube

The funeral of Pope Francis, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 88 following a stroke and cardiac arrest, will be livestreamed globally on YouTube this Saturday.

Coverage will begin at 10 a.m. Central European Time (4 a.m. Eastern Time) on the official Vatican News YouTube channel.

The broadcast will be available in multiple languages, including English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and German, ensuring wide accessibility for viewers around the world.

The ceremony will be held in St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, where thousands are expected to gather to pay their final respects to the beloved pontiff.

The livestream continues a tradition begun by Vatican News during the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, when the daily papal Mass was first streamed online to reach the faithful amid global lockdowns.

Now, that digital presence allows millions to participate virtually in a moment of historic significance for the Catholic Church.
