Pinterest has expanded its partnership with Amazon in a move aimed at strengthening its position in the creator economy and online shopping market.
The company announced on Wednesday that creators will now be able to showcase their Amazon Storefronts directly on Pinterest.
Amazon Storefronts are personalized online shops that enable creators and influencers to earn commissions through affiliate links by promoting products featured in their content.
The integration is expected to provide creators with another channel to monetize their audiences while helping Pinterest enhance its appeal as a shopping-focused platform.
The development comes as creators increasingly build affiliate marketing and e-commerce businesses across major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
Pinterest said the partnership aligns with its growing role in online product discovery and shopping. According to the company, more than half of its users visit the platform with shopping intent, while the site records over 80 billion searches each month.
The expanded partnership comes as Pinterest seeks to strengthen its position as a shopping platform while addressing user concerns over the increasing presence of AI-generated content on the site.
As part of the initiative, Pinterest has introduced a new tool that allows creators to link their Amazon Storefronts directly to their Pinterest accounts.
Once connected, affiliate links will be automatically attached whenever creators tag eligible Amazon products, streamlining the process of recommending and promoting items to their audiences.
The integration also enables creators to showcase their Amazon Storefronts on their Pinterest profiles, giving followers a more comprehensive view of the products they endorse beyond individual Pins or curated Boards.
Pinterest hopes the feature will make it easier for creators to monetize their content while enhancing the shopping experience for users seeking product recommendations and inspiration.
