OGIRS begins enforcement campaign to collect unpaid revenues

The Ogun State Internal Income Service has launched a comprehensive enforcement campaign aimed at recovering unpaid tax liabilities and increasing government income.

The Punch reported that the enforcement action is planned to guarantee complete compliance with payment of consumption taxes, withholding taxes, back duty liabilities, and road taxes beginning on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

This statement was made at the Revenue Headquarters in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, in an official release that was signed by Olugbenga Olaleye, the Executive Chairman of OGIRS.

The exercise is intended to replenish the state’s coffers by recovering all outstanding tax liabilities owed to the government.

Olaleye emphasized that the enforcement operation would encompass the state’s three senatorial districts.

He called on tax defaulters to swiftly remit all outstanding tax arrears through the Agency’s website or by visiting any of the state’s tax stations. He also asked all users of the road to make sure their road documents are current.

OGIRS is dedicated to upholding fiscal responsibility and bolstering the financial stability of the state, and this includes the enforcement exercise.

To enable a smooth and effective rehabilitation process, the organization invites businesses and citizens to cooperate.
