The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited for successfully restreaming the Warri Refinery and Petrochemicals Company after years of inactivity.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the union’s National Executive Council, recognizing the importance of this achievement for the nation’s energy sector and economic development.

The statement, signed by NUPENG President, Williams Akporeha and General Secretary, Olawale Afolabi, described the achievement as a reassuring step towards reviving Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The union commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to rejuvenating critical sectors of the economy.

NUPENG noted that the revival of the Warri Refinery follows the successful restreaming of the Port Harcourt Refinery about a month ago.

The union described this development as another significant milestone in efforts to restore Nigeria’s refining capacity.

NUPENG stated that the commencement of production at the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries signals a new era for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The union emphasized that this aligns perfectly with its vision and long-standing advocacy for the revitalization of the sector.
