NNPC records sharp decline as monthly profit falls to ₦185bn

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has posted a profit after tax of N185 billion for July 2025, representing a 79.56 per cent decline from the N905 billion reported in June, according to its latest monthly report.

NNPC explained that the decline was driven by cost of sales and income tax adjustments.

The company also
reported revenue of N4.406 trillion for July, a 3.59 per cent drop from the N4.57 trillion posted in June.

NNPC noted that the revenue reflects the aggregate of groupwide earnings, including intercompany transactions.

It added that crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.7 million barrels per day in July, while natural gas output stood at 7.72 million standard cubic feet per day.

The national oil company said its “strategic” focus remains on sustaining crude oil and condensate output, boosting production facility uptime, and deepening collaboration with stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.

“Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline: Additional subcontractors deployed to expedite completion of mainline works and fast track project completion,” the report reads.

NNPC said it has rolled out a revised execution strategy aimed at accelerating the completion of the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) River Niger crossing project.

“[The] 113km portion of OB3 Gas Pipeline has been commissioned and is flowing about 300mmscf/d of gas from two gas producers,” the oil company said.

The report stated that the NNPC Foundation, in collaboration with the offices of the executive vice-presidents for downstream and business services, coordinated the donation of 35 compressed natural gas buses to the Presidential Initiative on CNG.
