The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism and Atelier Concierge Services Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to promote Nigerian native foods and organize the 2023 edition of the institute’s Gastronomy Festival.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that this was revealed in a statement released on Friday in Lagos by the director-general of NIHOTOUR, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa.
Kangiwa stated that the MoU was signed to guarantee that the 2023 edition of the Gastronomy Festival will increase in terms of the variety of diverse Nigerian and foreign cuisines and beverages that would be on display.
Kangiwa stated that the festival is slated to take place in Abuja from June 16 to June 17.
According to him, the festival was designed to improve the skills of Nigerian chefs and food enthusiasts in the intricacies and cutting-edge best practices for processing, presenting, packaging, and promoting food, particularly Nigerian traditional cuisines.
“Culinary Arts: The Gateway to Growing Tourism Destination” was the theme of this year’s festival.
“This year’s festival will be the largest thus far in terms of the number of participating companies and exhibitors, as well as the widest in terms of the variety of Nigerian and foreign foods and beverages on offer.
These objectives prompted the necessity for collaboration with Atelier Concierge Limited, one of Nigeria’s top travel, tourist, and hospitality companies.
The Chief Executive Officer of Atelier Concierge Ltd., Mrs. Lucia Shittu, responded, saying, “We are thrilled that Atelier Concierge is partnering with NIHOTOUR for the next celebration of the Gastronomy festival.
“With the help of the promotion of Nigeria’s cultural treasures, locally inspired food, vivid fashion, and much more, we can show how committed we are to advancing the country’s tourist business.”
