Cornerstone Insurance Plc’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Mrs. Christabel Onyejekwe as a Non-Executive Director of the company.
According to Nairametrics, this information was found in the company’s announcement to the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
The appointment was subject to confirmation by the National Insurance Commission and ratification by members at a general meeting, according to the statement issued by the company’s management.
Mrs. Onyejekwe, who is a licensed attorney with a track record of employment in the financial services sector is a capable company development specialist with Harvard Company School training in organizational leadership.
In the Nigerian financial services industry, Onyejekwe has more than 35 years of experience. Currently, she works with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System PLC as an Executive Director.
Listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange is the Cornerstone Insurance Company. On Friday, May 5, 2023 was the insurance company’s final trading day, it closed its shares at N0.65 on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Cornerstone’s share price was N0.60 at the start of the year, and since then, its valuation has increased by 8.33%.
The company reported a net income of N 2,530.72 million for the entire year, down from N 3,511.22 million the previous year. Basic earnings per share from ongoing operations decreased to N0.14 from N0.19 in the prior year.
