Nigeria has the potential to become a global talent exporter, the Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Inuwa, has said.
He said this was achievable if all pertinent parties from the public and commercial sectors collaborate to develop and exploit the potential of digital technology for equitable economic growth, job creation, and sustainability.
The NITDA DG said this on Wednesday in Abuja during the 2023 Digital Nigeria Conference.
“We may not be able to compete in manufacturing and other areas, but when it comes to talent, I can say globally, we can compete with any country on this planet and I believe we can beat any country,” The PUNCH quoted him as saying.
He stated that nothing is impossible and with everyone’s help, Nigerian talents will succeed in the tech sector just as is being done in the music, sports, and film industries.
In an effort to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy, President Bola Tinubu, on the first day of the conference, called for greater collaboration within the tech ecosystem.
The President was represented by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
The Managing Director of Main One, Funke Opeke, in her keynote speech, said the country had not yet completely embraced the benefits that digital technologies provide.
