Netflix ends cheapest ad-free subscription in US, UK

Netflix has discontinued its basic plan for the subscribers in the US and the UK. This is Following the removal of the basic plan subscription package in Canada by the streaming giant.

Users with the base plan could watch Netflix in 720p on a single screen, but new subscribers won’t be able to purchase the basic plan, but existing subscribers will be able to keep using it.

“The Basic plan is no longer available for new or rejoining members. If you are currently on the Basic plan, you can remain on this plan until you change plans or cancel your account,” Netflix support page reads

The company may discontinue the plan in all countries where it has introduced an ad-supported standard plan, according to the action, which was observed by the U.K.-based website Code Busters.

In the US, the package cost $9.99 per month, whereas in the UK, it cost £6.99 per month.
