MTN Nigeria, the country’s leading telecom services provider, has teamed with the US-based digital music platform, Apple Music, to provide free access to a premium selection of songs as part of efforts to ensure consumers can enjoy excellent entertainment on the move.
Customers of MTN who sign up for the service will have access to Apple Music’s library of more than 100 million songs from across the world.
As a result of the arrangement, Apple Music users will receive a six-month free trial courtesy of MTN Nigeria. They can continue to stream or download songs on the platform for N1,000 per month after the free trial. Both iOS and Android devices can take advantage of this promotion.
Additionally, MTN subscribers will be able to use their airtime balance to pay for the music streaming service. Customers of the MTN network, both pre-paid and post-paid, can access this.
“We are constantly looking for ways to better serve our consumers and give them access to tools and services that fit their lifestyle. As Africans, music plays a major role in our daily life.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to improve Nigerians’ access to music and enhance music distribution there. There are millions of songs in the Apple Music library, both domestic and international.
“We are pleased about the potential of this cooperation and anticipate an exciting future,” MTN Nigeria’s Chief Digital Officer, A’isha Umar-Mumuni, remarked.
