Dangote Industries Limited received an award of excellence from journalists in Lagos State for its remarkable contributions to the economic development of Nigeria and Africa in general.

According to journalists, Dangote’s aggressive employment generation push, which has resulted in thousands of capable youths finding lucrative employment within the Group, and the company’s dedication to providing essential infrastructure are the reasons for the award.

The presentation of this award took place at the Gala/Awards Nite that marked the conclusion of the 2023 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Lagos State Council when several business companies and specific people were also recognized for what they have done in society.

This award came after being named Nigeria’s Most Valuable Brand for the sixth consecutive year by the brand and marketing agency TOP 50 BRANDS NIGERIA.

The largest cement maker in the country, Dangote Cement Plc, a DIL subsidiary, employs more than 65,000 direct workers and more than 100,000 indirect workers across all of its plants.

The journalists praised the Dangote Group in particular for the pioneering roles it has played in backward integration in the cement and sugar industries.

By continuously expanding its operations both domestically and abroad, the company has helped the country move from being import-dependent to self-sufficient, creating much-needed jobs for employable youths.
