Guaranty Trust Bank issued an apology to its clients on Saturday in response to their displeasure following a recent update to the GTWorld mobile banking app.

In light of disruptions to the bank’s digital operations, GTBank customers reported dissatisfaction with the use of the bank’s mobile app on Friday.

The situation changed as a result of the bank’s app upgrade, which was supposed to enhance and add new capabilities to the bank’s mobile transactions but instead caused login problems and other challenges for users.

The bank issued an apology for any trouble brought on by the functionality of the new GTWorld app in an email to customers on Saturday.

Additionally, the bank reminded clients that its technical team is working nonstop to rectify the situation and restore full functionality to the app.

“We are aware that you have been unable to log in to the GTWorld Mobile Banking App as a result of the recent update we initiated.

“We would like to sincerely apologize that we were unable to effortlessly provide the new GTWorld App to you as we had communicated.”

GTBank recommended customers use its Internet banking platform as an alternative to lessen the impact on their banking experience.

Customers can access their accounts by going to www.gtbank.com and entering their current GTWorld User ID and Password, bank account number, mobile number, or email, according to the bank.

The bank also offered instructions for creating e-tokens, which are needed to finish transactions securely on the Internet banking platform.

“For online banking, please visit www.gtbank.com and log in using your GTWorld user ID and password, your bank account number, your mobile phone number, or your email address.

“If you don’t have a hardware token, please generate e-tokens by dialling *737*7# or by installing our e-token app from the Play Store or App Store in order to complete transactions on Internet Banking.

“You could easily reset your password on the Online Banking login page, or you may contact GTCONNECT for help,” it said.

The bank told its clients that a dedicated team is on hand around-the-clock to handle any questions or complaints.

“Customers may contact the 24-Hour Contact Centre or contact GTBank via WhatsApp at 0904 000 2900 for assistance,” it added.
