The former CEO of X (formerly Twitter), Linda Yaccarino, has been appointed CEO of eMed Population Health, an artificial intelligence startup focused on developing tech solutions for patients using GLP-1 drugs, such as Ozempic.

Yaccarino, who previously served as a top advertising executive at NBCUniversal before joining X, spent two years leading the social media company alongside Elon Musk. During her tenure, she played a key role in stabilizing the platform’s advertising business, despite ongoing controversy surrounding X’s reduced approach to content moderation.

Now making a pivot into health technology, Yaccarino enters unfamiliar territory. While she lacks a background in healthcare, eMed cited her “undeniable ability to negotiate new partnerships” and noted that her high-profile experience in tech makes her a valuable asset in building visibility and traction for the company.

eMed first gained recognition during the pandemic for its digital platform that supported users taking at-home COVID-19 tests, offering step-by-step guidance. The company is now shifting focus to GLP-1 medications, a popular class of drugs used for weight management and type 2 diabetes treatment.

Yaccarino’s appointment marks a significant move as eMed aims to scale its AI-driven solutions in a rapidly evolving health tech market.
