The Federal Government has praised the Dangote Group for contributing to the government’s efforts to diversify the country’s economy, as well as the company’s commitment to promoting best practices across all of its enterprises.
The PUNCH reported that he appreciated Dangote Group at the same time that the Ogun State Government announced that Dangote Cement, which has the second-largest cement mill on the continent, is a major contributor to the state’s economy.
According to a statement released on Thursday, the minister of state for the environment, Dr. Iziaq Saloko, made this revelation on a Wednesday visit to the Dangote Cement facility in Ibese, Ogun State.
Following the visit, there was a community engagement event to get ready for the Expert Panel Review of the coal-related Environmental Impact Assessment study at the plant.
According to Salako, “Dangote Industries is a global conglomerate overall, and I’m glad the company is leading the way in promoting best practices in terms of conception, planning, implementation, and management of factories that are manufacturers like these.
As the country gradually moves away from its reliance on oil and gas, President Bola Tinubu’s administration has identified mining as one of the major industrial sectors for economic diversification.
The Minister explained that Dangote Cement deserved praise for the massive cement facility because it is generating employment and export potential.
Additionally, the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, represented the Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and said the state was a beneficiary of Dangote Cement presence with the amount of levies and taxes it had paid into the state coffers.
He urged further cooperation between the corporation and state agencies, pointing out that the state was aware of the plant’s efforts to improve the areas it serves.
During his speech, Nawabuddin walked the minister through the infrastructure and social investments the company has made since its founding.
He continued by saying that the business had been able to make a significant impact on the creation of jobs and infrastructure in the host towns.
According to the plant director, Dangote Cement, Ibese Plant has made a significant contribution to the State and Federal Governments’ efforts to diversify their economies by generating jobs and selling clinker and cement to countries in order to bring in foreign cash.
