The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority announced on Thursday that it has met with Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in a recent air rage incident on an Ibom Air flight.
The meeting forms part of the authority’s ongoing investigation into the incident, which took place on a flight from Uyo to Lagos.
The development follows a social media post by NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, announcing the agency’s plan to meet with the passenger on Thursday.
Achimugu noted that Emmanson would be accompanied by her lawyer during the meeting.
“NCAA has held a meeting with Comfort Emanson, the Ibom Air passenger, Achimugu said tersely.
In a separate post on X, Achimugu stated that NCAA officials also met with Julie Edwards and other Ibom Air crew members involved in the incident on Wednesday in Abuja as part of the investigation.
He added that the agency’s directorates of aviation security, operations, licensing and training standards, legal, and consumer protection are collaborating to ensure a comprehensive conclusion to the probe.
However, Achimugu did not disclose the outcomes of either meeting.
On August 13, the NCAA announced plans to meet with Ibom Air and eyewitnesses to examine the circumstances of the incident.
