The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has expressed his excitement over the unveiling of Elon Musk’s Starlink, a satellite internet provider, in Nigeria.
Buhari expressed his delight in a tweet on his verified page on Twitter on Thursday night.
The tweet reads, “We are delighted that Starlink services have been deployed in Nigeria, making us the first African country — and the only one so far — to enjoy this rollout. With this deployment of Starlink, we now have 100 percent broadband penetration in Nigeria.”
This satellite internet provider, Starlink went live in Nigeria on Monday.
Am Business reported on Monday that that starlink was live in Nigeria, making the country the first African country to receive the service.
It tweeted, “Starlink is now available in Nigeria – the first African country to receive service.”
Since the unveiling of Starlink on Monday, some individuals and organizations have subscribed, testifying about its super speed capacity.
The CEO of Paga, Tayo Oviosu, on his Twitter page shared the tested speed by comparing it with Fibre internet. The result showed that it was about 16 times faster than the fibre internet.
