Apple Inc. on Thursday released the public beta of iOS 26, giving users an early look at one of the most significant iPhone interface redesigns in over a decade.
The beta version—now available to iPhone users globally—marks a major shift in Apple’s mobile software strategy.
Dubbed “Liquid Glass,” the new design introduces translucent buttons and fluid animations, replacing the long-familiar static menus. Apple last introduced a comparable overhaul in 2013 with iOS 7.
Users interested in testing iOS 26 can enroll through Apple’s website and download the update via the Settings app under General > Software Updates > Beta Updates.
The public beta provides Apple with real-world user feedback ahead of the official fall release.
The redesign is part of a broader UI refresh across Apple’s ecosystem.
Similar updates have been rolled out in beta form for iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS, unifying the user experience across devices.
