Apple unveils AirPods Max 2 with improved audio

Apple on Monday launched the AirPods Max 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to its premium 2020 headphones.

The new model is priced at $549 and comes with active noise cancellation, Apple’s audio-focused H2 chip, enhanced sound quality, and support for live translation.

Apple will open pre-orders on March 25, with availability expected early next month.

The headphones will be offered in five colors: midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue.

The AirPods Max 2 come with several upgrades, including enhanced active noise cancellation, an improved microphone system, and new features such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Live Translation.

Live Translation, first introduced on the AirPods Pro 3 in September, allows users to translate in-person conversations across languages using Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI platform.

Apple also said the AirPods Max 2 support high-resolution lossless audio via USB-C, catering to music creators and professionals who require higher-fidelity sound.
