Apple is kicking off the new year with a special treat for non-subscribers: free, three-day access to its entire Apple TV+ catalog for anyone with an Apple ID.
From Friday, January 3, to Sunday, January 5, users worldwide can stream the platform’s original shows and movies on any device that supports Apple TV+.
The free streaming period is part of Apple’s push to attract new subscribers to its service, which costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year in the U.S. While Apple has not disclosed subscriber numbers since launching Apple TV+ in November 2019, this promotional weekend serves as a significant bid to expand its audience.
To participate, users need only an Apple ID and password to log in. The promotional period provides unrestricted access to the streaming service’s content for 48 hours, with the hope of enticing viewers to subscribe once the free period ends.
Apple TV+ has been steadily growing its library and reputation with high-quality original programming, positioning itself as a key player in the competitive streaming market. This free access initiative reflects Apple’s strategy to leverage its content to attract new subscribers while highlighting its diverse range of offerings.
