Apple, Netflix partner to stream F1 Canadian grand prix

Apple and Netflix have partnered to co-broadcast the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.

Apple’s senior vice president of services, Eddy Cue, announced Thursday.

“I’ve known (Netflix co-CEO) Ted (Sarandos) for a long time. We’ve worked together before and we had this idea,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, said Thursday in a press briefing.

“Netflix has done an amazing job with ‘Drive to Survive’ and we thought it would be great if we could offer it to our customers and at the same time we’d like Netflix customers that have been watching ‘Drive to Survive’ to be able to see a race on Netflix, and that’s what we’re doing with the Canadian Grand Prix.”

For the first time, United States F1 fans can watch the live race simultaneously on both Apple TV and Netflix.

Netflix subscribers will have access to the entire race weekend, including practice sessions, qualifying, and the Grand Prix on May 24, streamed live on the platform.

In addition to live race coverage, the partnership will feature cross-promotion of Netflix’s hit series, Drive to Survive.

For the first time, the eighth season, comprising eight episodes that follow the 2025 Formula One World Championship, will be accessible to Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. as well as Netflix viewers worldwide, greatly expanding its reach.
