Apple is pressing ahead with its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, despite sluggish early sales, with work on its headsets, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The tech giant is said to be working on two next-generation versions of the headset. One would aim to address the two most frequent criticisms of the original model: its hefty $3,500 price tag and its considerable weight. The second version would reportedly be designed to connect directly to a Mac, enabling users to stream content from their display and use enterprise-grade applications.
While the development of a lighter and more affordable headset remains a challenge — particularly amid ongoing tariff uncertainty under the Trump administration — Apple appears committed to refining its mixed reality ambitions rather than walking away.
These efforts are seen as incremental steps toward Apple CEO Tim Cook’s long-term vision: creating lightweight augmented reality glasses that could be worn comfortably throughout the day, blending digital and physical experiences seamlessly.
Though Apple has yet to comment publicly on future Vision Pro models, the company’s continued investment suggests it sees spatial computing as central to its future product lineup.
