Amazon on Wednesday, announced a number of updated and new products as well as generative artificial intelligence for its Alexa voice assistant.

In place of the nearly ten-year artificial tone, Alexa will now chat more casually and provide answers to queries like when football games start and what ingredients to use.

Alexa was introduced by Amazon in 2014, but the Amazon has not been able to consistently find a way to make it profitable, leading customers to the company’s website for additional purchases.

The service, which may be accessed often through speakers or equipped televisions, gives spoken responses to user inquiries, such as the current weather, and can act as a central hub to operate household equipment.

The Seattle-based tech giant has sought to update Alexa, especially since OpenAI’s ChatGPT emerged in November with lengthy written responses to intricate questions.

At the event, Amazon also unveiled updated Fire tablets for kids, a soundbar for televisions, and improved search features for finding free content on FireTV.

The $180 wall-mounted touchscreen Echo Hub for controlling appliances across the house is one of the new gadgets that Amazon has unveiled.

Updates to its Echo Frames glasses with Alexa built in, as well as updated models of its Blink outdoor security cameras and Eero Wi-Fi extenders, were also announced.
