The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced the dates and venues for a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom in September 2026.

The announcement was contained in a public notice issued by the NIS on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The development follows an earlier announcement by the NIS on the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from its headquarters in Abuja to the United Kingdom, following a directive from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The NIS said the intervention exercise will be held at four locations across the UK after consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the country.

The passport intervention exercise will take place in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, 2026, while Nigerians in Aberdeen and Cardiff will be attended to between September 21 and 26, 2026.

“Sequel to the earlier announcement on the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja, to the United Kingdom, on the directives of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Service hereby informs the public that:

“Following due consultation with the High Commission of Nigeria and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK, the provisional locations, venues and dates for the intervention exercise are as indicated below,” the statement read in part.

The intervention will be held at four venues across the UK. In London, the exercise will take place at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, from September 7 to 19, while Manchester residents can access the service at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, during the same period.

In Aberdeen, the intervention will be held at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, from September 21 to 26, while Cardiff will host the exercise at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, over the same period.

The Service said eligible Nigerians in the designated locations and surrounding areas can use the intervention exercise to apply for new passports, renew existing ones or resolve pending passport applications.

Applicants are required to complete their applications and make payments through the NIS passport application portal before attending the exercise.

They must also present a completed application form, payment slip as evidence of payment, appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope. Those applying for passport renewals are additionally required to present their current passports.

The NIS warned that applicants who arrive with cash will not be attended to, stressing that all payments must be made through the designated online portal.
