The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has ordered airlines to provide refreshments and other alternative measures in accordance with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 Part 19.

According to a statement signed by the Director Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, Michael Achimugu, the NCAA is aware of recent flight disruptions that have inconvenienced air passengers and sympathizes with all affected passengers for the inconveniences these disruptions have caused.

According to Achimugu, the NCAA has mandated that all airlines offer timely flight interruption information to passengers so that they can make informed travel selections.

The NCAA stated that it is closely monitoring all operations, and Consumer Protection Officers are on ground to monitor passenger handling procedures to ensure that airlines mitigate the inconveniences to passengers and provide care, refreshments and other alternative measures in line with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 Part 19.

Flight delays and cancellations is not uncommon in Nigeria, especially during the holiday season.

It also has significant economic implications for the country and its citizens and passengers affected by these disruptions often face additional costs, including expenses for accommodation and transportation.
