The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has lauded the Lagos State for its growing economy, adding that the state should be emulated.
Sirika said this while presenting the approval for the new Lekki-Epe airport to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on behalf of the Federal Government.
The presentation was held at the Lagos Economic Summit 2022, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos on Tuesday.
The minister who delved into his historic account of how Lagos taught him patience, hard work and a never give up attitude said the state’s constant development is worthy of emulation.
He said, “Your excellency, Lagos, someone said Eko Oni baje but just to say that really if Lagos should be called by a university, Eko for Sure, No! it is Eko for copy, Yes!
“Because from 1999 till date, from Maroko Sandfill to Epe, and all of the huge growth of the economy and becoming the dominant power in West Africa, you must copy, you must be envious.
“I knew what the IGR in Lagos was in 1999, and I know what it looks like today, I knew what the economy looks like because I bought and sold in the city of Lagos.”
