Fidelity Bank Plc has obtained approval from the Nigerian Exchange Limited to extend the deadline for the publication of its audited financial statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026, to September 30, 2026.
The extension was disclosed in a notice dated August 21, 2026, and signed by the bank’s Company Secretary, Ezinwa Unuigboje.
According to the bank, the audit of its H1 2026 financial statements is still being finalised.
In the statement, Fidelity Bank said that upon completion of the audit, the accounts will be submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for regulatory approval before being released to the investing public.
“Fidelity Bank Plc wishes to inform its esteemed shareholders, Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), and other stakeholders of a potential delay in publication of its Audited Financial Statements (AFS) for the Half Year Ended June 30, 2026 as required by the listing rules of NGX.”
“Premised on the foregoing, the approval of the NGX was obtained for an extension of time to September 30, 2026, subject to receipt of regulatory approval from the CBN for the H1 2026 audited accounts.”
The bank also reminded insiders and connected persons that the closed trading window on its shares remains in force and will only be lifted 24 hours after the publication of the audited results.
Fidelity Bank joins a growing list of Nigerian lenders that have obtained additional time from the NGX to publish their audited half-year results.
Recently, Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) secured an extension to September 30, 2026, for its H1 2026 audited financial statements, pending regulatory approval.
Access Holdings Plc also received approval to file its half-year audited accounts by September 30, while Zenith Bank was granted a six-week extension, moving its filing deadline to October 9, 2026.
Under NGX rules, listed companies may apply for deadline extensions where audited interim accounts require approval from primary regulators before publication.
The extension comes as Fidelity Bank continues to deliver strong earnings growth.
The bank reported gross earnings of N434.95 billion in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 37.9 per cent increase from N315.42 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
Interest income rose by 22.8 per cent year-on-year to N314.48 billion from N256.10 billion, reflecting growth in its core banking operations.
With net interest income of N180.97 billion, Fidelity Bank posted a profit before tax of N92.48 billion for the quarter, underscoring its continued expansion despite a challenging operating environment.
