Dubai airport resumes operation after drone strike ignites fuel depot

Dubai International Airport resumed a restricted flight schedule on Monday morning following a drone strike on its fuel depot that sparked a fire.

“Emirates expects to operate a limited schedule after 10:00hrs Dubai local time today. Unfortunately, some flights from today’s schedule have been cancelled,” the airline said in a statement on X.

Flight operations were affected after the Dubai Media Office reported a “drone incident near Dubai International Airport” that impacted one of the fuel tanks.

The office also stated on X that no injuries occurred.

This marks the fourth drone-related incident at Dubai Airport, with each event causing temporary flight disruptions and some injuries.

The airport handles over 90 million passengers annually and is the world’s busiest for international traffic.
